FAQs

What is a Life Coach? A Life Coach is someone who works with you to set goals in various areas of your life, find solutions for current issues, and helps to keep you accountable. A Life Coach is not a therapist and is not a substitute for counseling and therapy. In a coaching session there will not be a deep dive into past issues and is meant to help a client work in the present and toward the future, by finding solutions and setting goals.

How long does a Coaching Relationship last? As long as you want it to! Typically we will work on one skill, goal, or problem for a total of 4-8 sessions depending on the complexity. We would set up a plan in the Goal Setting conversation for how often we would meet whether that would be weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on your individual needs. If we need to extend your coaching contract we can definitely do so, but you are only committed to 4 sessions in the initial contract.

Do I really need a Coach? Can't I just do all this myself? Having a Coach working alongside you can help to keep you motivated and accountable. Have you ever set a goal just to quit a few weeks later once you lost motivation or a conflict came up? Many of my clients also find it helpful to have a third party cheering them on or to help them process their thoughts in a constructive way. I firmly believe everyone has a use for a Coach, even Me!
